I'm fishing!

It's quite tricky to catch, the elusive water buffalo.

All of the constant talk in here doesn't make it any easier.

What?

What are you looking at me like that for?

You need a spear and magic helmet. Like me.

Personally, I'm trying to get a ride on this Perfectly Normal Beast,
that isn't here, but should be here any minute now.

What? You are a spear and a magic helmet? And here we all thought you
were a dangerous mad (but benevolent) scientist!

Ah. I debated with myself about whether I should make the stupid joke I
did, or the even worse one that you cannot command people to like you,
even if you do have nuclear missiles to back up your command.

True, but you can command them to pretend to like you and, if you have a
Ministry of Truth and a Ministry of Love, you can make them believe that
they love you and that we've always been at war with Oceania.

I too had an internal debate as to how to respond. The wordy version
(short: "You need a spear and magic helmet. I need a spear and magic
helmet. Therefore you are like me."), the mea culpa version, the
s/me/mine version, etc. I even looked up the wikipedia link for
"What's Opera, Doc?" which is the Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoon that
the 'spear and magic helmet' ObRef comes from. And so on.

In the end tiredness won out. :-D

I'm glad it did. Without that, Kåre couldn't have made that joke and
the thread would have missed a lot of content that I liked.

That's not saying that another joke couldn't have been made ;-)
